Dermaplane and Medical Microneedling are effective stand-alone treatments. But combined they can produce optimal results and give you a desirable outcome.
Together, these procedures are ideal in treating uneven skin tone and texture, large pores, fine lines, unwanted facial hair and acne scars. Dermaplaning BEFORE Micro-needling allows serums and topical products to penetrate significantly deeper into the skin layers, allowing the patient to achieve the most desirable outcome.
There are many good reasons to combine these two types of facial treatment together, benefits include:
- Deeper cell rejuvenation, exfoliation and regeneration – The vellus hair and dead skin has already been removed during the dermaplaning procedure. Therefore the microneedles can reach slightly deeper into the skin, to trigger the exfoliation process further into the skin.
- More effective, visible results, especially for large pores, uneven skin tones and scarring – Dermaplaning doesn’t just prepare the surface of the skin, it can also start to change it through exfoliation, and the removal of dead skin cells. To then apply microneedling on top of the this, means that any microneedling results will be greatly increased.
- Increased penetration of any topical products – After both a dermaplaning treatment and a microneedling treatment, you can expect any skin care products to be more readily absorbed by the body, increasing the quality and hydration of the skin. However, after microneedling, it is advised that you should wait at least 24 hours before applying any treatments, as the skin can be incredibly sensitive.
While you can have a Medical Microneedling treatment AFTER dermaplaning, you should NEVER dermaplane after a microneedling treatment. This is because the skin would be too vulnerable and prone to infection.
Please note - This may not be suitable for everyone.
