Non-Invasive Carboxytherapy is a treatment in which carbon dioxide (CO2), is infused into the skin to encourage and increase oxygen distribution. Carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring gas in the body, and as such it cannot cause any allergic or other unwanted reactions. This treatment utilises the science of the BOHR Effect. The presence of CO₂ promotes the dissociation of the oxygen from the haemoglobin, causing tissue hyper-oxygenation. Through the Bohr effect, more oxygen is released to those tissues with higher carbon dioxide concentrations.

At Skinlytics, the Carboxytherapy gel is applied to the face and then the carboxytherapy activator mask is then pressed firmly onto the gel. The interface produces a specific amount of carbon dioxide, which is infused into the skin. After getting absorbed by the skin, CO₂ forms oxygen (O₂) from blood cells to subcutaneous tissue. It causes the expansion of blood vessels, activates protein synthesis, stimulates fat metabolism and removes toxins from the body.

By infusing carbon dioxide into the skin, an acidic environment develops. This signals our organism to secure oxygen to the tissue in the treated face and accumulate natural growth factors (vascular endothelial growth factors). Post-treatment,  microcirculation is created.

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure that uses minimally abrasive, fine crystals and a vacuum to remove dead skin cells and uneven outer layer of the skin. As the instrument makes contact with the skin, layers of the stratum corneum is exfoliated. This procedure stimulates fibroblasts to produce new and healthy living cells in the basal layer of the epidermis, leading to improved cell turnover and blood flow. This procedure is safe for all skin types except sensitive skin. Microdermabrasion can be performed on the face, neck, chest, back and hands. Immediately after the first treatment skin improvements will be visible as the skin will be more vibrant. The effect will get more pronounced within the first 24 hours after treatment as your skin calms from the therapy and the renewed skin becomes more visible. Over the next few weeks, the skin tone and texture change; this is because the skin cells are triggered to produce larger amounts of collagen, which is responsible for creating plumper, more elastic skin.
